In addition, the Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, a project of the Children's Museum of Houston, will be on hand to provide fun, learning-based, games and activities for kids.
The FORT BEND VETERANS FESTIVAL will be hosted by the Society of the Eucharist Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
Your contributions to The Society of the Eucharist Foundation are deemed charitable under the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3).
This festival is a major community effort involving many community leaders, and due to the potential political nature of this cause, we make clear that we are not endorsing anyone or any entity in politics. We simply seek to do the Lord's work, even while under difficult challenges. This is a Christian hosted event and we are requesting the assistance of all local Fort Bend Churches.
Net proceeds from the Festival will be divided three ways: funds distributed to local veteran organizations, funds retained for the following year festival, and funds retained for special veteran needs that come to our attention during the year. Amounts will be disclosed publicly.
Furthermore, this event provides a chance for the varies veteran organizations to develop their membership. Declining membership is a serious issue at this time and we must find creative ways to help.
This is our way to express our deepest gratitude to the men and women in our armed forces who voluntarily risk life and limb so that you and I can enjoy the democracy and freedoms which define us as a nation. We do this to let them know that their sacrifices are not taken for granted, that we can do more than pay lip service or give them thoughts and prayers, but can actually, concretely, thank them through our gifts and contributions.
Today, this is a grassroots community effort. Corporate sponsors will later come but let us be the catalyst for this dream that shows our respect for our service people. We will make public all sponsors (with their consent) and their contribution. The public is welcome to encourage support. .
Your support and contributions will enable us to make real changes. Every little bit counts!
